PHAROS principals Julian and Chris worked together in an expedition company before they were involved in its sale to the world’s largest travel company in 2009. With Julian’s specialist operations and health and safety background as an army officer and expedition leader, and Chris’ considerable experience in crisis communications, it wasn’t long before PHAROS RESPONSE was born.
The aim was to offer risk, reputation and crisis response services to help other organisations that may not have access to the extraordinary crisis management experience that Julian and Chris had built up over many years.
PHAROS RESPONSE has grown thanks to an excellent reputation spread primarily by word of mouth and managed to fend off the considerable challenges presented by the COVID pandemic. Julian, Chris and the PHAROS team remain committed to providing excellent service at fair prices and to remain focused on the education, youth, travel and adventure sectors that they know so well.
We are often asked, why the name ‘Pharos’? Well, Pharos is Ancient Greek, pronounced ‘Pha-ros’, meaning ‘lighthouse’. Of course, lighthouses are designed to guide people away from harm, which is exactly what we aim to do.
