Sales Manager
Wokingham
Are you an experienced, versatile sales professional motivated by developing and converting sales leads? Have you had exposure to the schools, adventure, youth or travel sectors?
Pharos has an exceptional reputation and delivers a unique range of services, so presents an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to make a big impact.
About the role
We’re a small, energetic team and we’re looking for someone who can lead the day-to-day sales activity to help us grow the business. We’re looking for a sales generalist who is happy to get involved in supporting our marketing effort to generate new leads while also taking the lead on developing and converting those leads. Some will convert directly, some will require calls or meetings arranging with our Directors. We already have a proactive marketing programme in place and a strong database of leads waiting to convert, so you’ll be starting from a good place!
Your primary focus will be on the core B2B Pharos Response brand, but we also have the opportunity for you to take on the development of a new and exciting B2C brand, Travel-Aid for the gap year sector.
You’ll be reporting to our Communications Director who leads on the marketing and sales focus for both brands.
About you
We’d like to see more than five years’ experience working in a sales environment (possibly with some marketing crossover), with demonstrable, target-driven results. We are sticklers for attention to detail which is why you’d need to be a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing to be able to present Pharos well over the phone and in emails.
If you’re ticking all the boxes so far and also come from the adventure travel / education sectors, you’re likely to ‘get’ what Pharos does very quickly. Please keep reading as you’re likely to really blow our socks off!
About us
We’re a small team on an exciting journey, making a big impact having quickly shaken off the impact of Covid with a rapidly increasing number of clients. In short, we help them to prevent, prepare for and respond to major incidents and crises in the UK and overseas.
Clients include National Citizen Service (NCS), National Youth Agency (NYA), leading independent and international schools, Multi Academy Trusts, international non-governmental organisations (INGOs), niche travel and adventure businesses. We support big brands through to one-man bands. The lion share of our business is purely B2B but we also have a new B2C brand, with a focus on digital and ecommerce – checkout TravelAid, a safety net for gap year travellers.
The successful candidate will take on a key position that we anticipate will grow and develop as the business expands and it is hoped that in time, the right candidate will be able to take on a greater remit in the wider management and direction of the overall business at a more strategic level. The right person will be motivated by working within our small (but lovely) office in the centre of award winning market town Wokingham, but there will be flexibility for some home working.
Due to the nature of our clients’ work with children and the access to confidential personal data, the successful candidate will need to maintain professional confidentiality and will be required to conduct a Disclosure and Barring Service (police screening) check.
What’s in it for you?
Up to £35,000 per annum
Sales performance bonus, up to £10k per annum
Pension
25 days holiday entitlement
Employee Assistance Programme
Annual welfare allowance
Eye care
Cycle to work scheme
Office car park space
A friendly team working environment with plenty of excellent coffee and fruit!
